When LELO launched their Insignia SenseMotion range last year, they very kindly sent me a Lyla to review on Rarely Wears Lipstick. A remote controlled vibrator that was powerful, quiet and stylish? Well, lets just say that it lived up to my expectations and I didn’t think there was any cause for complaint whatsoever. Apparently LELO thought they could do better though, as now there are updated versions of the Lyla, Oden and Tiani and we’re promised 50% more power, greater wireless range and the ability to control the vibrator without the remote. So of course I had to review one of them to test these claims for you. This time, my choice from their three gorgeous couples massagers was the wearable little Tiani.
I know I mention this every time I get my hands on a new LELO toy, so you may be sick of hearing this by now, but opening the box of a LELO Pleasure Object is a thrill in itself. You don’t realise just how exciting it is to unwrap a well made, well designed and well packaged product until you find yourself opening the box of something really special. We all know that Apple have got this perfected, but I’d say that LELO are probably the Apple of the adult world. The Tiani 2 Design Edition is a joy to own, from the moment you slide the box out of its sleeve. When you open the box, you’ll know exactly why these vibrators are in a league of their own.
After charging the main unit and popping batteries into the remote, the first thing I tested was the claim of improved power. I set the Tiani 2 on a steady vibration setting, turned the intensity right up and… I was blown away. Just holding this tiny toy in your hand will make you giggle and gasp, at the power of the motor and also how quiet it is. I didn’t think it was possible to improve on their first generation SenseMotion range, but it definitely feels like LELO have managed it. Use this little gem under the duvet or behind a closed door and I really don’t think anyone would know what you were doing. Mind you, chances are you might not be as quiet as the Tiani is! Test number two was the improved range. A willing volunteer left my flat with one half and headed downstairs to the front door of the building whilst I wandered around my home holding the other part, and we didn’t lose the wireless connection once. Test three would have been to see if the unit worked on its own without the remote, but it turned out that my partner in crime had already discovered this function accidentally. That would definitely come in handy for solo use.
As with the first generation Lyla that I reviewed previously, the SenseMotion settings on the Tiani 2 were fantastic. One requires only small movements of the remote, the other more vigorous motion, but each allows one partner to control the vibrations that the other is receiving in a completely unique way. You could make the toy vibrate in time to your favourite song, settle into your own rhythm, or keep things as varied as you can with constantly changing patterns. This feature gives the potential for a lot of fun and games, especially seeing as the Tiani 2 will stay in place to provide clitoral stimulation without any additional help. It’s much less bulky than many wearable vibrators, and very comfortable too, plus it comes with two tail-like attachments of different shapes so that you can increase the level of internal stimulation during intercourse, if required.
My only complaint with the Tiani comes when you wear it during sex. When worn on its own, the larger end sits perfectly on the clitoris, providing soothing through to mind blowing vibrations, exactly where you want them. However, once you insert something else alongside the smaller end – whether that’s a penis or another toy – the part which provides the vibrations starts to rest a bit too high on the body. Some women might find that the decreased level of stimulation is better during sex as it doesn’t distract too much, but I found the shift in intensity somewhat frustrating. Despite this, the Tiani 2 is a fantastic toy with impressive features and a truly outstanding whisper quiet power. LELO have most certainly got a hit on their hands with this one!
DISCLOSURE: I was sent a Tiani 2 free to review by LELO.
